Semiotics: Culture in Context Workshop
This workshop advances research grounded in semiotic frameworks, bringing together scholars from anthropology, linguistics, comparative human development, area studies, social work, media studies, science studies, and more. Rather than organizing inquiry around a particular area, period, or discipline, the workshop is unified by theory and method: how to study social and cultural phenomena as embedded in meaningful contexts and constituted, coordinated, maintained, and contested via semiotic means.
